Welsh Highland Railway
WHR NG/G16 2-6-2+2-6-2T Beyer-Garratt No. 138 recreates a South African style freight on the Welsh Highland Railway during the recent 'Super Power' Weekend as it heads the 1210 Dinas Junction - Rhyd Ddu freight on 14th September 2018. Such a pity this freight wasn't run on all three days of the gala and was much longer! Five wagons were certainly no test for a 'Garratt!!' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnaAt0Ng0Go
A visit to the Welsh Highland Railway on Saturday 17th September 2016 where we see WHR Class NG/G16 Beyer-Garratts Nos. 87 & 143 in action between Caernarfon and Porthmadog. Despite only being 2'0" narrow gauge, its easy to appreciate why these impressive and mighty locomotives have the nickname 'Tiny Titans!'

2-6-2+2-6-2T Beyer-Garratts Nos. 87 + 138 head a freight during a photo charter on the Welsh Highland at Rhyd Ddu reverse curves and Pont Creosor Junction in November 2013 and clearly illustrates the sheer power of the mighty NG/G16 Garratts, which is why the NGG16s earned themselves the nicknames of 'Tiny Titans.' www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjZjlxCiiqo

In this film, we ride behind WHR NGG16 2-6-2+2-6-2 Beyer-Garratt No. 87 as she storms through the reverse curves and bends out of Beddgelert and climbs to Pitt's Head Summit on the Welsh Highland Railway in North Wales. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCX8k1Sf8Oc
One of the more extraordinary trains operated over the Welsh Highland Railway (in connection with a photo charter) was this 21 vehicle consist hauled by three steam & diesel locomotives! The Festiniog's 'Vale of Festiniog' Funkey diesel is at the front hauling three coaches, followed by WHR Garratts Nos 87+138 hauling a freight train of 18 ex South African wagons including an ex SAR brake van! Epic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTNWVRs-hVg
A footplate ride in Lynton & Barnstaple / Southern Railway Manning Wardle 2-6-2T 30190 Lyd through the magnificent Aberglaslyn Pass on the Welsh Highland Railway on 10th February 2011. The Aberglaslyn Pass comprises of four tunnels between Beddgelert and the Pass, starting with Goat Tunnel, and this was filmed when Lyd wore the attractive pseudo BR lined Black livery that she carried when she was first built. With much thanks to Paul Lewin for allowing the filming to take place! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPXtUaT7uG4
