In May 2014, SR 'West Country' 7P5F 4-6-2 34007 Wadebridge visited the Bodmin & Wenford Railway. In this second installment and viewed from the first coach, we ride behind BR (WR) 78xx Manor 4-6-0 7820 Dinmore Manor from Goodrington Sands to Churston. Tackling gradients as severe as 1 in 60, the driver didnt ease off until we reached the summit at Churston. Absolutely epic!! Enjoy the sound of a GWR Manor working hard!! One of the more extraordinary trains operated over the Welsh Highland Railway (in connection with a photo charter) was this 21 vehicle consist hauled by three steam & diesel locomotives! The Festiniog's 'Vale of Festiniog' Funkey diesel is at the front hauling three coaches, followed by WHR Garratts Nos 87+138 hauling a freight train of 18 ex South African wagons including an ex SAR brake van!
