One from the Classic Traction archives! Filmed 11 years ago, we see Class 205 2H DEMU 205032 (the former 1132) restored to her original two car (2H) formation at work on the Dartmoor Railway on 5th February 2006. Built at Eastleigh between 1957 and 1962, each unit is powered by a 4 cylinder above floor mounted English Electric 4SRKT engine. Resplendent in BR Green, it gives an impression of 'what might have been' had the 'Withered Arm' network of lines survived the Beeching cuts, would we have seen Southern Region DEMUs working local trains throughout Devon & Cornwall - you can almost imagine one of these DEMUs patiently waiting departure at Halwill Junction for Bude or Padstow! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLoikB3IFzQ
